Be careful though, you DVD player has to support PAL format and the region. Region 0 is any region, but I believe your DVD player would have to be able to play PAL videos. _________________ "Love is a person, not a gender.

And if you have a closer look at the forum rules, you will see why there is no "download of the cd+dvd on it". It sometimes helps to acquaint oneself with the rules of a forum when you post there. There's also the "no spam" rule which I'm sure you're aware of. Just have another look, if you feel you don't remember all of it.
Now back on topic, please.

Sicario, "Obezyanka Nol" was released in 2005, the video you see is of the MUZ TV performance last year. "Null and Void" was released this month. Someone (talyubittu) took "Null and Void" (the audio) and placed it over the old MUZ TV video. As you can see, lips and words aren't in synch in the video, because originally they are, of course, singing the Russian version. |

It arrived yesterday The DVD is great but there weren't as many TV Spots as I would have thought. Also, I don't know if it's supposed to be that short but "Divine" was no different to the version I've already got. Although the versions of Friend Or Foe and Show Me Love are different and that was a nice surprise. I think they approached the English version of "Obezyanka Nol" a bit lazily and to be honest I would have bought the album with or without. I would have preferred a complete English version of "Vsya Moya Lubov", since we know it already exists. The Lyudi Invalidi Remix is the best new track on the album. There's a problem with the packaging, on the spine they've misspelled "t.A.T.u." as "t.A.Tu.", which annoys me. And in the sleeve they've reprinted the lyrics to most of the songs but blanked out 'shit' from "All The Things She Said", even though it is included uncensored on the Dave Aude Remix, and not blanked out 'fucking' from the Show Me Love lyrics, even though it is still censored.
Also, I have a general question. If t.A.T.u have left Interscope who's releasing "Loves Me Not"? |

But it will at least be getting a video and all the promos for The Best have said "new single "Loves Me Not"", including the UK release, so that's why I expected it to be a single released in the charts but I guess single doesn't necessarily mean that anymore.
Also, I noticed on some of those promo posters posted (p, p, p) earlier all the quotes around the song titles are screwed up and on the cover of The Best they have changed Julia's nail-polish from Blue to Red! |

They photoshopped Yulia's nail polish? What's up with that?
And I agree Null And Void had no effort put into it at all. The lyrics are repetitive and frankly rather boring, nowhere near as good as Obezyanka Nol. I mean you can compare each and every line... which would you prefer, "Love for everyone and anguish for monkeys:, or "Tell me what I'm not supposed to know"? For me at least this is a no-brainer. Null And Void just sounds like repetitive rambling, but Obezyanka Nol has some real deep meaning to it. At least they didn't bother to release that english version of AML... that was god awful...
But the line "Show me what you never meant to show"... mmm... that actually sounds rather intriguing... and tasty... _________________

Well, I got my copy of "The Best" from the UK today - in Germany it will be released later this month (on the 29th), and I just couldn't wait that long. :D
I love it. It's a great selection of songs (20 songs), the remixes are awesome, I LOVE the "Lyudi Invalidy Russian Remix", it's one of the best remixes ever, I think "Null and Void" is fantastic, and I really like the Glam As You remix of "Loves Me Not". The songs have been playing on my iPod all day, the marvellous, distinctive t.A.T.u. sound unfolding... *sighs* Wonderful. It's amazing when you look at the songs and listen to them, how versatile the list is, how many genres are covered, it's really amazing when you think about it. And they do have such a distinctive style, the girls' voices, their personalities shining through, the top-notch production values. *gush gush* :)
The DVD is a real treasure. I like the Glam As You club performance, it's got good energy, their voices sound really good, again a clever selection of songs, and the way it was filmed is aesthetically quite pleasing to my eyes.
We get all the new music videos, All About Us (both versions), Gomenasai (both versions), Lyudi Invalidy, Friend or Foe, and, strangely, How Soon Is Now (but I'm not complaining), plus 4 remix videos (ATTSS, NGGU, AAU and FOF).
It's really something else to see all those videos in such great quality with such great sound!
For me, the best part of the DVD is The Making Of section: Making of All About Us, Making of Gomenasai (quite a short segment, Lena and Yulia with Richard Carpenter at the set of FOF, with Yulia playing the piano for him), and Making of Friend of Foe - which is just awesome. James Cox again, Sting praising them, the girls in such a good mood, both of them playing the piano, sharing a kiss, and so on and so forth. Lovely!
The TV spots were a little disappointing, I guess I expected a few more, but it was a nice bonus anyway.
In short: A great item to own, I hope it will sell well. The only thing I (still) don't like is the cover. This old photo does not represent who they are today, and I never liked this photo session anyway - but it's just a minor criticism - the CD and DVD are certainly worth buying.

Thanks xena, for the review. I can tell you're excited
But honestly, I don't like that much the Lyudi Invalidy and Loves me Not remixes. I prefer Cosmos and Craving remixes.
I stil have to wait for my CD/DVD to come, though, I had to order it in a music store, so it's going to take a while until it does. _________________ The moon was rising and she was waiting. Death was so near!! But she wasn't afraid. She had lived too long, loved too much and killed too many... |

Oh, I like those remixes as well, Cosmos (She Wants Revenge Remix) and Craving (Bollywood Mix) - I just didn't mention them, because they aren't new. Oh, and the Dave Audé remix of ATTSS is pretty nifty as well. It's all great. Why don't you like the Lyudi Remix? I think it's really unique.

The Cosmos remix is the best, then I like Craving and Loves me Not. I really don't like the LI remix. It sounds so demo-ish. _________________ Kristya |

It is unique, that's true. It's different from everything else I've heard before, but I don't know why, it gives me a headache...
I've tried to listen to it several times, because some songs have to grow on you... this one is taking a lot of time :P
Loves Me Not remix, on the other hand, is very similar to the original... I know, sounds like I'm hard to please _________________ The moon was rising and she was waiting. Death was so near!! But she wasn't afraid. She had lived too long, loved too much and killed too many... |

International Superstar Duo t.A.T.u. Return With The Best
Expansive Twenty Song Retrospective To Include Three Brand New Tracks, Exclusive Remixes and New Single “Loves Me Not”—Sure To Be Hot!
New York, NY—To refresh your memory, back in 2003 two foxy sisters from Russia with a knack for stirring up controversy and banging out brilliant electro pop tunes ruled America’s airwaves with their risqué breakthrough smash “All The Things She Said”. Since those heady days, there’s been a lot of fuss about t.A.T.u.. And while much of it has been hot, it’s about to get much hotter now that The Best has been released in the US this week exclusively though Best Buy on Interscope Records.
First off, to help bring you up to speed on how hard Russia’s favorite musical exports have been ruling foreign shores, we’re going to rifle off some quick facts that have nothing to do with kissing or lesbians or schoolgirl outfits that put Britney to shame. On the quantitative front, the duo have sold over 6 million records worldwide, gone multi-platinum in over seven countries, platinum in nine countries and gold in eleven countries, including the US. On the qualitative front, they have been featured in publications ranging from The New Yorker and Interview to Maxim and Mixer, not to mention a whole slew of European magazines including GQ Russia, who recently named them “Women Of The Year”. Not bad for two girls not even old enough to legally knock back a few vodka cocktails, right?
Hot off the success of their most recent rock-infused pop confection “Loves Me Not” in Europe, t.A.T.u. are storming America’s shores with a twenty-track album containing all their most beloved smash singles, exclusive remixes and edits and three brand new songs. Hardcore fans will be pleased to know that now-classic t.A.T.u tracks like “All The Things She Said”, “Not Gonna Get Us” and “All About Us” have all found their way onto The Best, as has a smashing remix of “Cosmos” by electro warriors She Wants Revenge. Rounding out the handsome package are four tracks sung in their native Russian and—most importantly—three new songs featuring contributions from the likes of Sting, Richard Carpenter and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics.
We trust that after you hop on the pop-tastic train that is t.A.T.u, you won’t want to get off. Or maybe you will. We’re not going to go there, but we do hope you enjoy this tasty, hook-laden musical offering in any way you see fit.

Thanks for posting that! I got my copy today, finally hehe. It's interesting to listen to the songs on an album like this, I definitely hear which songs are good and which are weaker. Most importantly... I will watch the dvd. And while I'm at it, maybe I finally should watch the dvd I got with 200km/h. I didn't watch it yet, it's been over 3 years.
All in all, the idea to release a best of album is still bad, but if it means they can move on to a new record company and all that sweet stuff... fine! _________________ a.k.a. Sir Pish E. (*Mufflemuffle*) |
