I was kind of hoping for a sweeping, groovy dance song I could get obsessed with. But hearing her voice again! And the lyrics are really good all things considered. Getting so excited about all this again. |

This vlog says she's going back to Moscow.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jvmcq5cOnZ8&playnext_from=TL&videos=y6oFprQSV8w
So I've been thinking, they said they might just release an EP right? So her first cd might only have the 6 songs we've heard so far. If that's the case, I think it should be called World, and this should be the tracklisting.
1. World
2. IRS
3. Just A Day
4. Lost In This Dance
5. So Not Cool
6. Stay
That's just my opinion. Still I'd prefer more songs so we can have a complete album. What do you guys think? _________________

I wouldn't mind, EPs generally cost less and I'm watching every penny right now. Plus, more songs would probably mean waiting longer for a release. |

So i take it we're mostly staying clear of the drama that's going down lately regarding certain comments on Lena's shows so far? There is some epic shit going down on the official boards.
My stance on the whole thing? Sure, go ahead and use tatu songs to pad out the setlist a little, better that than have them locked up in some hermetically sealed vault and never sung agin. _________________ The Tajik in space was the best one. Apparently he's been in the Soyuz since 1990 but when the USSR broke up responsibility for getting him back passed to Tajikistan, which could not afford it. The "Solo Careers" thread over at the official forum has turned into a Lena fans vs. Yulia fans bash fest. It's quite amusing, I must say. _________________ Si Hoc Legere Scis Nimium Eruditionis Habes |

I suppose that's just how the world works, you should see the Ace of Base boards I'm happy for Jenny AND the new Ace of Base, I'm also happy for Yulia AND Lena. Why aren't more people perfect like me?! Okay, exaggerating a little, but really. Obviously tATu would be nothing without both girls, so obviously they both bring important things to the table. Things we love. Things we can appreciate separately given the chance. We haven't even heard anything from Yulia and people are already deciding they hate her and she's untalented on her own, how is that logical? I mean, really. |

Troy has tweeted multiple times that the whole band is behind Lena on this one, for good reason so they claim. He also says Yulia never wanted to do anything in t.A.T.u. _________________

Yulia said in the following interview that she thinks Lena performing old tatu songs is stupid, and she also said that she thinks Lena's new songs are silly and won't be successful.

Lena gave a placid respsonse.

Lost in this Dance - just a bit meh. where lena sings that "tonight" bit truly shows how weak for voice actually is. |

Yulia makes the best sound ever. She doesn’t need to prove anything. I bet super snitch Troy wishes the one with the voice and the star quality was with them, instead of Lena. _________________ I've got "Property of Yulia Volkova" tatued on my heart.

And who is going to be shocked if/when it turns out to be nothing more than a cheap publicity stunt to get everyone talking about two people who the music scene doesn't much care for anymore?
Artist 1 attacks Artist 2, Artist 2's fans leap to her defense and savagely return fire at 1, free publicity for everyone and both artists take it right to the bank.
Yawn. How passé.
How about both just drop it and get back to making music, or whatever it is they're supposed to be doing with their lives (and let the fans get back to theirs)? This feud is absurd. Yulia apparently has an opinion. Good for her. Lena's fans disagree, the world keeps on a'spinnin. I really don't get the ire. |

Yulia has lost any respect and admiration I have ever had for her. Shame on her. Lena doesn't deserve to be dragged through the mud like this. She has done absolutely nothing wrong. _________________

You know, from what I've seen, tATu fans never have been very intelligent or respectful people. But it's still sad to see that idea reinforced. What have YOU guys done with your life? Sat on a forum and caused women to lose their self-esteem? At least Yulia went through all that and STILL found time to record and tour and get back into shape too. She's a resilient woman and I don't think her womb is any of your business and I don't see how it factors into her ability to sing and create profitable music. |

I just watched the interviews. I don't really think it was appropriate time to voice that opinion when Yulia has not shown as much progress. It did seem like an attack but it is Yuliaish to speak her mind. I agree as Ashidiot wrote Yulia is a strong woman and all. Her womb does not have anything to do with her singing and I won't call her names or say bad. But I think it was rude and she needs to showcase before she can throw her weight aroumd. Lena did nothing for such rude words. _________________

I found neat how calm Lena was about it She did not seem urked by it at all, smart enough to not fuel a fire and throw back what Yulia said and proceed into a catfight. _________________

That's exactly what it is - Both Yulia and Lena has always been quite good at publicity (if they hadn't, they wouldn't have made it this far, neither of them).
I mean, truth be told, it's been quite a while since any of them had their voices at top.

Pregnancies ruin your singing voice because you usually never get it back up in shape (to get to the womb-part first). Yulia has tried to, true, but never quite succeeded.
Yulias comment came, for her, at a time where she still has something to prove, musically. Which she probably can't or won't do. Because slacking your former bandmate gives PR - PR leads to more money - Money makes people, in general, happy.
I'm not giving much for the argument "But she has children", because sometimes you just have to make a choice. Would I rather focus on my children and forget making comments like this - or would I concentrate on making music still and then I can make comments like that when I have actually proven something?
Sorry, Yulia, you can't have the best things from both worlds. |

I feel slightly offended by that. There's no need to put us all under the same category. You are obviously a fan also as you are a member on this forum. So basically, you are just degrading yourself as well as the rest of us. Thanks for that
Oh and by the way, I do feel as though I am intelligent and have respect for other people. And I'm sure that others feel the same way. It almost seems as if you are the one who has little respect for others.
So yeah. Rant over lol. |

I stopped visiting the ru forum because of all the mud-slinging going on over there regarding this topic. Looks like I am going to have to by a pair of slush boots because I really don't feel like leaving this forum as well.
Can't we all just get along and let others deal with there own problems?!

I just thought it was incredibly rude that someone would go so far as to say anyone who has children is a slut. It's like "HOW DARE YOU have children?! You're supposed to do nothing but make music for me! Ungrateful, jerkass me!" And frankly, considering the world is half female and half male, if pregnancy really did affect your voice that much I think everyone on earth would be aware of this phenomenon. It's like you think Yulia is the first woman to ever, ever, ever record music before and after having a child. I'm so sorry you're offended at her choice to have a life outside of music. |

You clearly misunderstood my entire post. Let me try to explain it to you one more time:
First of all, let me make it clear to you that I never called Yulia a slut. I honestly don't care who, what or where she sleeps around, because it's her choice, and her choice alone. That she chose to have children, fair enough, that's her choice, but my point with my comment was that it's really, really a bad time to come with a comment like she did when she hasn't proven anything on the music scene apart from the things she has made with a tatu yet, whereas Lena has. And it's quite normal for solo artists to take their old songs that they song in their old band and sing them live - as long as they're not on the album.
Secondly, it's a quite well-known fact. A lot of musicians (this includes singers) has troubles breathing properly during and for some time after pregnancy, which ruins the voice unless you slowly, but steady build it up again. Yulia hasn't done that. Not an awful lot of the half the population (the female part) that you were talking about are musicians, and unless you're really, really, insanely into music and can hear when the singer takes the wrong or right breathing or hits a false note, then no, it's nothing that you'd just notice unless you know and understand music.
Thirdly, I'm not offended that she chose to have children. But touring and recording is a full-time job, and if she can handle it, kudos to her, but so far, she hasn't be able to prove that she can be both a full-time mum and a full-time professional singer.
This has nothing to do about her having a life outside of music. It's more a case of her having shown lack of professionalism if she really wants to get into the music business, and that's a pity.
Did I make myself clear this time? Because if you still think I'm name-calling Yulia, then take it to PM instead and ask me exactly what I mean when I'm saying what I'm saying. |

It's not the fact that she had children, it's the fact she had unplanned babies out of wedlock. With rich married men.
But you're right, she's certainly not the first to do that and get away with it. She does still have to show that her music is as good as she brags before she goes bashing any other artists. _________________

Does it really matter that she had children out of wedlock? Hardly.
In the end, it's probably just a PR-stunt for both herself and Lena. |
